
Four Webelos
from Pack 120
had the opportunity to join Odessa Boy Scout Troop 120 for their Fall
District Camporee at the Odessa Reservoir the weekend of September
15-16, 2002.

They camped out Friday night through Sunday morning, through a
Saturday
of persistent rain and a beautiful, sunshine-filled Sunday morning with
outdoor church services and American Flag Retirement ceremony by the
lake.
The boys had the opportunity to learn and practice outdoor skills in fun
events:
The Big Muddy Earthquake
Using materials provided, build a shelter that can stand a ground
shaking experience.
Noah's River
Using materials provided, safely and quickly cross all scouts and
supplies to the other side of the river.
Mrs. Oleary's Fire
Build a fire and burn string to extinguish fire by dropping water
balloon on it.
Grant has been camping again
Grant has been camping and is stuck. Safely lower him down an
embankment.
The Scoutmaster's cell phone quit
Send and receive instructions to members of patrol using the
Semaphore Flag signaling system.
Campfire
& Cracker Barrel was interrupted by an explosion and a
surprise challenge event:
Emergency! A plane has gone down in the woods, the pilot
ejected and was injured in the crash and needs to be located and
transported back to camp!
Camporee closed with a
Sunday morning service by the lake,
presentation of awards, and dismissal.
